The Larkin Hedge School is a celebration of music, song and poetry run by the Clé Club. Founded in 2009, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the ITGWU by Jim Larkin,

Over the past five years sessions in the Clé Club have extended to include dance, poetry and storytelling with visitors from many countries and the Larkin Hedge School reflects that diversity, with workshops and classes and concerts. The charge of €10 covers all events.

To fund the project, the Clé Club is asking trade union branches and organisations or individuals with related interests to help out by buying a “share” of €50. The market value is inestimable, and the profit in pleasure and learning immeasurable.

Cheques can be made out to The Clé Club and posted to Treasa Uí Mhurchú, 208 Ashley Rise, Portmarnock, Co Dublin.

The Hedge School programme for 2009 included classes, workshops and discussion groups involving old favorites from Clé Club sessions and others new to the club. All the sessions went down well and there was much learning, merriment and music. The 2010 programme will expand on the great success and bring you an even bigger and better programme at no extra cost!
